This album, recorded live, in concert, is a collaboration between Bob Ewell on the piano and world-class trumpet player Kyle Gregory.
Kyle Gregory, trumpet, travels throughout Italy, Europe, and the rest of the world as a solo artist and educator. He plays regularly in various formations, including his own quintet/sextet, the Lydian Sound Orchestra (from 2002), the Meshuge Klezmer Band, the Robert Bonisolo Quartet, the Luca Boscagin Quartet, Sing Without Words, and the Unscientific Italians. In past years he performed with numerous internationally-known jazz and commercial artists, including Paul Motian, Bob Mintzer, JJ Johnson, Dianne Reeves, Liza Minelli, The Temptations, and the Chicago Jazz Ensemble. He appears on 35 albums.
After living and working 15 years in Verona, Italy, Kyle makes his home in Colorado Springs with his wife, Kim, and their three children.
Bob Ewell, piano, is a mathematician and retired Air Force Officer, who currently serves with an international nonprofit. He has played the piano all his life, studying “formally” from third grade – high school. He plays piano for fun in various venues and has recorded two solo albums. He is honored to be making music with Kyle Gregory, a true professional.
